This is an original design created by yours truly.
I created this design for a limited edition skateboard design for Devil Street Decks out of Brooklyn, New York.
The size of this print is 10"x34" (that's almost 3 feet tall!). The actual design is 9"x33" and is the same size as the design file used for the skateboards. I've included a 1/2 inch border on the posters in case you want to matte it but it looks good framed without the matte just with the white border.
This design, titled 'Eat the Rich' is a different style than my previous Alien Constellations series. For this design (and more to come) I decided to go back to the old school style that I remember when I was first learning to skate. I've brought back some of the saturated, bright colors with the skeletons and madness.
I also added some really old school style printing techniques called 'halftones'. although halftones have been around for decades, many of the pulp publications from the 50's used this style to give the appearance of midtones and shadows without having to add more colors to the printing process. It reminds me of the old horror comics I loved (and still love) to read and I like the way the style feels with my art style.
I hope you like it too...because there's more where that comes from and it's coming soon.
On another note...this design was inspired by the Motorhead song of the same name, 'Eat the Rich'.
